China Petrochemical Corporation

China Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinopec" or "Sinopec") is a super large petrochemical enterprise group reorganized and established by the state on the basis of the original China Petrochemical Corporation in July 1998. It is a deputy ministerial level central enterprise directly under the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The registered capital of the Company is 326.5 billion yuan. The Chairman of the Board of Directors is the legal representative and is headquartered in Beijing.


The Company exercises the right to benefit from assets, make major decisions and select managers and other investors with respect to the relevant state-owned assets of its wholly-owned enterprises, holding enterprises and joint-stock enterprises, operates, manages and supervises state-owned assets according to law, and assumes the responsibility for maintaining and increasing the value of the assets accordingly. Sinopec, the company's holding company, has issued H shares and A shares overseas and domestically, and listed in Hong Kong, New York, London and Shanghai respectively.


Sinopec Group is the largest supplier of refined oil and petrochemical products in China and the largest refining company in the world. Sinopec Group ranked first in the 2017 Global Manufacturing 500 released by the global manufacturer group.


Sinopec Group ranked second among the Fortune Global 500 enterprises in 2019, and still ranked second among the Fortune Global 500 enterprises in 2020. In 2019, Fortune China 500 ranked No. 1, and Sinopec ranked No. 1 again in 2020. Grade A enterprise in 2020's business performance assessment of the person in charge of central enterprises.


On June 11, 2021, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between Evergrande Group and Sinopec Group was held in Beijing. No. 5 on the Fortune Global 500 list in 2021.


In August 2022, PetroChina announced that it planned to apply for voluntary delisting of its ADSs from the New York Stock Exchange in accordance with the U.S. Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (as amended) and other relevant provisions.
